I had an amazing dinner here on Saturday. Didn’t take any pictures due to high alcohol consumption, but the main was a beautifully cooked barbecue chicken with the juices, sauce, and fat dripping into a buttery mash. Dessert was strawberry shortcake on a biscuit. Honestly one of my favorite restaurants in California, and wish we had something like it in LA.

Also, I will add, I went to French Laundry the night before, and I enjoyed my meal overall more at Ad Hoc. That’s not to say the cooking wasn’t extremely high end at TFL–it was–but it felt kind of stale, and I’d say the primary takeaway for me was how rich it was. A couple days later, I keep thinking about the BBQ chicken at Ad Hoc, and not anything in particular at TFL.
