My take is that there are many good, authentic Thai restaurants in Thai Town. It’s easier to go right than it is to go wrong. None is really doing anything elevated, like I would say Holy Basil is trying to do. It’s just about what suits your fancy.
I went through a phase when I dated several Thai girls. Isaan Station was very popular among them, even though they weren’t from NE Thailand / Laos.
Personally, I like the rice noodles with ground fish curry and duck larb at Lacha Somtum and the southern curry and fish kidney curry at Jitlada. But I would say these are just two of many good Thai restaurants in Thai Town.
