is it that people who are passionate about thai food, like us… dont mind driving 2 miles to the other spot or to thai town? so there just isn’t a need for a 2nd location?

Only FTC geeks like us care about regional specialists/ty. Most people eating Thai don’t give a fuk if it’s Isaan, Northern, Central, or Southern.

it’s true… 1 guy i took cares and eats anything i tell him is dope, so we shared the two things i ordered… my other guy only gets pad see ew w tofu or veg soup at any thai place… a perfect sampling of what you describe.
the area has tons of people in my age group, loads of families… etc… koreans… oh shit… there are a million koreans right around me and they are NEVER at any non korean restaurant i go to… i just had some sort of a breakthrough
I was there for lunch about two weeks ago. I opted for their lunch special, with a yellow curry, salad, egg roll and Thai iced tea. I was the only diner in the place while I was there. I asked for “Thai spicy” for the curry. It came mild. The salad was dressed with a dressing so sweet I couldn’t eat it. Likewise, the tea was also way too sweet. All in all, not good. Can’t imagine going back. Just for the record, I love Luv2eatthai and go there often.
Order the things you get at Luv2Eat then. Don’t you order the lunch special designed for the people of the area. (erroneously designed but still)
Going to try take out from Noree Thai tonight. What are the top 3 things you would recommend?

Do they have the Jade Noodles from Luv2eat as well? That’s one of my favs.
Yep they do. It’s basically all the same stuff but less spicy, which you can remedy

I craved. She got the Banana blossom coconut soup with tons of galangal and lemongrass. He went for his green noodles again. Pla is the sweetest and keeps bringing him fruit after 20 hugs

So are Pla and Fern mostly at Noree these days? I’ve been craving the fish curry, but every time I go to Luv2Eat and don’t see Pla the food just isn’t as good

Pla is at Noree, that’s her name. I have seen Fern there but not sure if there much since it’s not busy

If it’s one of them then go to the one that’s closer. Food is comparable for me. More attention, coziness and byob option on beverly. More bustling on sunset. On beverly you have the added bonus going to Erewhon and staring at all the models shopping

For those who haven’t been (not you) I say Luv2eat first for destination eating and to get a feel for Pla & Fern’s vision, foodwise. After, if you live in the Beverly/Grove area, settle into Noree for some good neighborhood Thai eating. I haven’t compared the Crab Curry at both places, but IMO Noree is Luv2eat light, which is fine for me because I’m kind of a wimp, but…

It’s only light if you don’t tell them you like it thai spicy. I added a bit of my own chili to medium and i was on fire last night. It is different though because it’s off the shell, which we kind of enjoy. For some reason both places aren’t as fun for me as visiting actual thai town. It’s irrational but being in thai town makes the food taste better for me lol… .byobbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbb
