Chinese food in Vegas

Has anybody tried Shang Artisan Noodles or Big Dan Shanxi Taste?

I’m reading a lot of buzz about Shang, but I don’t see what’s so special about it. Its making its own noodles, but other Chinese places do that too.

Is it like Pine and Crane, where most of the customers are non-Asian?

I’ve read a lot less about Big Dan Shanxi Taste except that it was a semi-finalist for a James Beard award.
