Great review as usual, @Chowseeker1999!

Indeed it’s even better in Tokyo!

Is Torrance far superior to the one on Sawtelle?

Hi @Dommy,

Thanks. Yah, I think their Omu-Rice is only available at lunch. We order it once in a while, let me know what you think of it next time you go.

I’m a big fan of Kagura and I didn’t really care for Kimukatsu as much, tho it’s fine for local fare as I’m a Westsider.

Beautiful, thanks for this. I want to eat that.

Westside? Shaking head while wagging finger at you…

After seeing @Chowseeker1999’s (excellent as usual) write-up, this has refreshed my mind about how good the Torrance location is and how comparatively second hat the El Segundo location is.

Thanks @thechez5.

Which cut do you like the most at Kagura? Thanks.

Thanks @J_L for the confirmation. That’s good to know.

My friend from Tokyo also said that the Kimukatsu there even cooks a custom “mini Kamameshi”-type of pot of Steamed Rice just for your table when you go (which sounds awesome)!

Yes, I would say so as well. I agree with @ogawak.

Definitely the millefeuille.

I also like to stop by and get some of their crab cream croquets to go.

Hi @bulavinaka,

Thanks. And thanks for the warning on the El Segundo location; we’ve never made it out there, but it’s good to know we don’t have to.

Hi @tailbacku,

The various Kurobuta / Berkshire Pork Cutlets Lunch Sets (with Soup, Steamed Egg Custard, 4 Different Small Veggie Dishes and Rice) goes for $16.95 - $17.95.

The Free-Range Chicken Cutlet Lunch Set goes for $13.95.

And you can order a Mix and Match Lunch Set (but smaller portions of the Cutlet) where you choose a Cutlet and another item from a B Set (Crab Cream Croquette, Fish Fry, Oyster Fry) for $13.95.

You can also order the Cutlets a la carte for slightly cheaper (forgot to write it down). Enjoy!

Confirming that as well.

Kagura Torrance has this, too. I believe it was on the very last page of the menu. Maybe it’s not available at lunch? It takes around 40min, if I recall correctly. Worth every minute.

This is their Kinoko Kama-meshi that I had…
