Happy Hour - the ultimate collection

Charcoal HH is great.

good place to go as a single diner if you want to treat yourself. Locals are friendly and the food is great

Most interesting happy hour in DTLA right now is at Garçons de Café

Looking for a good happy hour in Culver City/Mar Vista/Playa Vista…no pizza or pasta…or heavy carbs in general. Proteins are preferred. I’ll be by myself and it will be 5:30-7:30 time period on a Friday.

Any recs?

A glass of Argentine Malbec, and a chunk of Comte to nibble.

Going low-brow at Whole Foods, Venice.

(There are a couple guys drinking craft beer and making friends with each other, discussing beer, and that you have to go to the Valley for the best sushi, and “Otoro, it’s like pork belly or lardo, so good!”
I love humans.)

Another current favorite of mine is Belcampo (Wilshire at 11th, Santa Monica)

FWIW, I only went to WF Venice once, about 5 years ago, and I was immediately struck by the astonishing level of physical beauty, of both genders, on display…mentally vowing, “If I was ever single, I would spend a fair amount of my free time here.” As for the locals’ mental prowess and/or abilities to discern O- from Chu- toro, I cannot say, but they sure looked good.

Finally made it over to Charcoal for their happy hour (5:30-7pm).

I’d recommend going closer to 6pm so that you can order off the dinner menu as well. That baked potato + cabbage! Boy howdy.

From happy hour menu:

  • Beef skewer - Probably my favorite meat bite.
  • Chicken wings - Nice smokiness and char.
  • Pork rib - Ok. But not great. Kind of bland.
  • Midnight Marg - Really solid margarita.

From dinner menu:

baked potato

cabbage baked in embers

Did you see squid on the menu? Been hearing about its popularity.

Sorry - I don’t recall either way. The bartender was glowing about the aged duck, though. Apparently there are only a few orders available each day (seven when I went).

Sometimes you get a surprise. This is one of the best artichokes I’ve had in a long time. Charred, tender and meaty. I was not expecting this.

The little corn dogs are great, freshly battered and fried to order, and the sliders are also unexpectedly good. The food here is way better than the cocktails, sorry bartenders.

glad to see this thread resurrected.

Belle Vie ceased their lunch service to concentrate more on Happy Hour and dinner. They’ve greatly expanded the HH menu: Pengeluaran SGP, Togel Singapore pools, Data SGP Prize, Keluaran SGP Hari Ini

looking for good west hollywood adjacent happy hours

Check out electric owl they have good drink and food specials. Nothing mind blowing but their hot chicken is tasty and their cocktails are great. The chef was a part of both umami and plan check.

Belle Vie in Brentwood has created a fantastic happy hour. Their hot dog, “French Dog” is incredible, and $11. Home-made sausage on their brioche with grilled onion and dijon. And the $6 wines offered are always changing, and always excellent (last night had an amazing white Burgundy - 3, actually).

Night Market Weho is probably my favorite happy hour for food and drinks, not so much the jolly atmosphere one needs during a happy hour.

Love the steamed clams at the Galley!

Porta Villa (bar side) in BH has good sliders and great drinks for Happy Hour. Great place to watch a game too. Also, new Cantina Frida has individual tacos at Happy Hour that are very good.
