Nice! How was the macerated peach gelato? Sounds awesome.
And what did you think of the soft shell crab po boy?

is this a knife/fork affair?
No it picks up fine - even though the picture doesn’t make it appear so. But I ate some of the shrimp off first to make sure it would all (kind of) fit in the bread glove.
It had a strong peach flavor with little bits of peach in it. Very refreshing!
Fun weekend of eating.
Started it off at Maple Block with the prime rib and sausage sampler on special that day
Sat, You eat now pop up at Line Hotel/Pot
Pork belly, chicken skewer, purple potatoes and slaw
Afterwards, wandered over to Ktown night market since it was only a few blocks away. Nothing too outstanding, not a lot of Korean. Had to get the obligatory grilled squid.
Sunday, hit smorgasburg, already detailed in the dedicated thread. Finished off having dinner with parents for Father’s day. Rib eye steaks with all the trimmings, Fosselman’s ice cream to fill in the cracks.
I guess I should have read further before posting. Love it.

Ktown night market. Nothing too outstanding
Good to know. We were going to go, but then thought “meh”.
This was the second time I’ve had it in two weeks, does that answer your question? LOL! Great meat quality, nice char, it’s a very tasty piece of meat. The side of onions is horrible though. $45 for a 20 oz piece, I think it’s great value.
Yeah, it was alright. But we were hanging out at Line hotel most of the afternoon playing games and drinking after the you eat now food pop up was done. It was an easy walk over there. Inexpensive enough, $5 to get in. There were plenty of decent food trucks and stands. Prices were very affordable. Some fun booths to check out and various stage shows.
I grabbed several free samples such as a full box of Lotte Chocolate pies, several snack boxes of a new pretzel flavor, some facial soap. There lots of samples being handed out of other items, you’d make your $5 admission back easily. I saw lots of people filling up a bag full of all the giveaways.
The area was well spaced out, the only super crowded areas were the food stalls later in the evening. Otherwise, lots of space to move and sit. Well organized, clean, lots of cleaning crews and security. It was a fun enough way for our group to spend a couple hours checking out things and enjoying the festive atmosphere noshing on some inexpensive good food before moving on to the next activity.
Bonus the location was close to HMS Bounty, perfect for drinks if you’re in the mood.
We didn’t know it was happening. It’s close enough for us that we should check it out anyway.
Are you referring to the Ktown night market? I think it’s only once a year. They had some banners up and down Olympic and Wilshire the couple of weeks beforehand. I think one of the what’s happening around LA newsletters mentioned it also.
K-town Night Market - Okay, so it was a little better than you first described. Maybe we’ll go next year. We decided not to go - other than it being a busy weekend for us - because the pictures of last years event looked really crowded (and young) and I couldn’t find many food pictures online. @Mattapoisett_in_LA there was also a notice on the Yelp events calendar in April.

Seafood Barsero Casablanca Restaurant Venice.
Looks great. I can imagine soaking up some of that broth with a good crostini.
Bulgarini Gelateria (Altadena)
Likely some of the best pasta in LA.
I dare say that the gnocchi is probably the best I’ve ever had. These light and airy pillows of potato dumplings just melted in my mouth…no chewing required at all. The recipes are belong to the owner’s grandmother…and you can feel it as you eat. The pesto was delightful.
It’s served with their wonderful in house hot torillias
