NEW SCIENTIST: "There is now a sixth taste – and it explains why we love carbs"

According to an article in New Scientist, scientists at Oregon State University believe that “[n]ow there’s evidence that carbohydrate-rich foods may elicit a unique taste too, suggesting that “starchy” could be a flavour in its own right.”

I thought the article would be boring… Nope. I hope they can crack it. It makes sense that it’s not just the sugar in carbs. Otherwise we’d skip the carbs and go straight to the ice cream in the freezer.
