Mutual Trading Company Chairman Noritoshi Kanai has died at the age of 94. He was largely responsible for ushering in the age of sushi to America, and fostering the growth of Japanese culture here through its cuisine. As a sushi-phile and fan of Japanese cuisine in general, I owe him a debt of gratitude. Rest in peace.
