Nice! Wish I’d seen your call for recs sooner. Next time, be sure to try the cauliflower.
No wine?
We had wine but only by the glass since half the group preferred cocktails.
i’m fine with quoting the total price, but if you’re not already familiar with the menu, saying something is $60 without any qualifiers (tax, tip, service charge) is misleading.
“It was a $60 plate of…”
60 x 1.04 x 1.095 x 1.2 = $82
That $82 plate quickly becomes:
82 x 1.04 x 1.095 x 1.2 = $112
And so on…
But if you are using your 2% cash back credit card, your actual price would be:
= [ $43 + ($43 x 0.04) + ($43 x 0.095) + ($43 x 0.20) ] - 0.02 [ $43 + ($43 x 0.04) + ($43 x 0.095) + ($43 x 0.20) ]
2% Rewards Credit Card → $56.26
LOL, that was behind my thought behind my first post. Just give me the fucking menu price. I usually tip 30% for several reasons, and use Amex for everything I can for the points.
If someone thinks something is overpriced, just say it.
Are you supposed to tip on the pre or post discount amount?
I like that you tip 30 % . Because of your reasons .Same here .

I’m going to need to see how much of your gross income was required to pay for this dish before I can feel comfortable ordering the sole.
