A quick update, I’m working this weekend, so the weekend trip to LA has been nixed. I might go next weekend, but with my current workload, I doubt it.
I’ll get to it soon, I drive through LA a lot, I need to take advantage of it.

They have seriously devolved, haven’t they? It used to be so fun; there was a great mix of people from all over; different age groups, all levels of cooking expertise, with cookbook authors and chefs occasionally chiming in. It was a great site for people that like to cook.
Ah well, time marches on.

It’s weird for Providence to call a prix-fixe of appetizer, first course, choice of second course, optional cheese plate, and dessert a tasting menu. That’s what the French would call the “menu” as opposed to the “menu dégustation” (tasting menu).
Actually, if the portions are the same size as they are on the $185 and $240 tasting menus, it makes sense.
