West Texas / Marfa

I’m well-aware of the Cochineal/Maiya’s/Food Shark circuit in Marfa, but are there any hidden gems?

We’re also staying a couple nights in Terlingua to hike Big Bend, so looking for places to eat there, too, as well as anything in the Marathon/Alpine/Forst Davis/Shafter/etc area. Any off-the-radar taquerias? Backyard barbecue? Kitschy lost-in-time joints that are worth a visit just for kicks or a drink?

Oh, and same deal along I10 or 90 on the way to and from Austin as well. Anywhere to stop for good grub, or are we better off packing a lunch?

Friends just got back from Marfa and enjoyed Squeeze for breakfast, Planet Marfa and Marfa burritos. .
You must go at night to see the Marfa Lights and the Prada store in Marfa.

Thanks @Plumeria!

I wish I had a longer layover in Austin next week, cuz, I would love to do a road trip to Marfa and see those lights and chow down on a burrito and then head on home…
Have fun and report back Helen…
