What would you like to see food wise that does not exist in L.A?

Balling in Okinawa. Eye Balling, that is.

Some eye candy.

While on subject of balls, throwing in a sack o’ Fish milt (sperm). Some scallops gonads.

Plenty of Quality stuff here in a mostly local fish market Naha.

I can get them sometimes at IMP

Now there’s a sight for sore eyes.

rijsttafel - I’d like a place that does one well.

Really outstanding water bagels.

Also, I haven’t had a good messy, falafel sandwich since Eat-A-Pita on Fairfax closed many moons ago.

I’m assuming you didn’t like the rijstaffel at Ramayani on Westwood Blvd.? I think it’s pretty good.

Oooooh. Thanks for the tip. I didn’t know about this place.

Please report back when you go, fellow DrBruin.

A proper fish n chip shop

and maybe a pintxo bar but i think you’d need a whole strip mall of them in order for it to work.

Word around town is that this is THEE place for malasada’s.

I will try and make it out sometime soon.

Sounds promising esp. when they list operating hours as follows:
Bakery Hours
Monday: Closed
Tuesday through Friday: 7am - 2pm/Sold out
Saturday & Sunday: 8am - 2pm/Sold out
Friday & Saturday: 5pm - 8pm/Sold out

They’re pretty good, I work pretty close and I try to avoid it since it can become a really bad habit and a shit Tom of extra calories I don’t need.

I used to go at least once or twice a week

What are your favorite things to get?

I usually get the regular malasada and the cinnamon sugar malasada. I also like their peanut butter chocolate cookie.

EDIT: adding that i also get an ensaymada once in a while.

Right up the street from me. We’ve been curious about it. Stupid low-carb diet.

Have you tried DoughDoughs?

I have. I like it but I haven’t had them in Hawaii.

Viet-Cajun crawfish boil.

I wish we had a top ten list here.

uh, we have a million of these places in LA.

What?? Why doesn’t anyone tell me these things?
