They are still doing the Supper Club though which makes more sense because right now The Row is a destination type place where people will be coming solely for food worth driving not because its a neighborhood spot so special occasion places like Hayato and their own supper club make more sense for dinner service.
That’s probably the idea they had, but is it working out that way for anybody but Hayato? Alameda Supper Club has reservations open any time you might want to go.
I’m not saying its working, what they intend is one thing, business reality is another.
Was at the Burbank Whole Foods and Tartine was in the house…doing a sampling of their breads. I got to try the porridge bread and it was very tasty. Now I need to try to get over to Tartine for real.
Pepperoni shortage right now, so you can auction off slices too.
Looks excellent to me, too, although I wasn’t in love w/ the one loaf of bread I bought there. Wonder if they’ll be doing this at the Santa Monica location (no pizza pics on their IG)…
i prefer our young LA-native bakery Clark Street over anything I have gotten from Tartine in LA.
(Clark Street doesn’t serve pizza… yet)
Looks like its charred a little to much . Crust and pepperoni.
Looks like they (Clark St) have weekend hrs. What do you recommend there?
Pepperoni looks okay to me. I don’t mind leopard spotting, but the left half of the crust does look a bit overdone…
Items we like:
- baguette ($4); seeded baguette is also very good!

- country loaf: we eat as much as we can fresh and slice & freeze the rest

- monkey bread is tasty for days when you want something sweet. I think they make theirs with croissant dough

We haven’t explored many of their kitchen items, but I like their nordic breakfast (i sub half baguette).
FYI, they’ll be opening a location in Brentwood. ETA is this month.
In the meantime, on the Westside, Wallys should still be carrying their baguettes (but none of the other great stuff @Starchtrade listed above).
Always down for a good baguette or croissant. Thanks for the recs!
Even better!!!
Are we still playing Bango??? I only needed a key lime pie from FWD or anything from Clark Street to complete for the win!!! My plating stinks, so I feel like stuffing my face from a variety of eateries is the only way I can compete.
Clark Street is legit.
