ETA: my husband quit giving me grief about my well-stocked pantry when I pulled off a sit-down dinner for 8 in the middle of a blizzard – we had a big house, so several of his colleagues needed a warm place to sleep, as getting home was not an option, even on the train…roasted chicken and vegetables, wine, and even dessert, before dragging out quilt and air mattresses.
