Al Pompiere - Rome

Old favorite from the 80s. Elegant but not stuffy. Went on a rainy Tuesday night, not full, some locals but more tourists.

Fiori di zucca were excellent. Carciofi alla giudia were two small ones rather than one huge one with lots of crunchy leaves like I’ve had previously.

Gnocchi al lardo, new to me, were very rich and satisfying.

Abbacchio a scottadito was shoulder chops rather than ribs and bigger and thicker than I think they really should be. Puntarelle were good.

Still a delightful place but maybe not at the top of their game that night.
