Good question. Website still has the same message.
He’s been traveling in Asia for inspiration. Was previously in Japan, but is now in Korea. You can follow his adventures here: https://www.instagram.com/baroo_la/
Oh sweet. Will do.
Oh cool. Looking forward to see what they will be serving now.
If i was running a restaurant based on a lot of fermented food I’d have to close for periods also
Awesome
closing for good
No surprise.
Went to baroo tonight it was packed with the line out of the door, but the food didn’t take that long to come out.
Had the noorook and ragu. I didn’t go all that often but sad to see them go.
They’re on a different journey. When is the last day?
October 27th.
I just read the LA Times article again. The 27th. It’s a bummer. But they seem to dance to their own beat - sabbaticals, adventures, cooking with Chef Kwan at Baegyangsa. He had to have known it was risky running a business like that. But that’s how he’s decided to live his life. It’s a beautiful thing if that’s what he wants. Hopefully we’ll see them someplace else.
Yeah I hope they stay in LA but based on the article there is an implication that they might be moving to a different city.
another great article from the New York Times of Los Angeles.
and they’re back.
