In my mind I’m just going to conclude that it was the European.
When I asked my folks today, they had absolutely no recollection of which place in the North End I was referring to (but then again, the deli that I took them to today in the SF Valley/LA they couldn’t remember ever having gone to and they’ve been there several times over the years, although not for a very long time) sigh…
