Looks fun! I was super excited when you mentioned in Whittier, @Sgee. Then I looked these places up and they seem to be in East L.A. on Whittier Blvd. Actual Whittier is east of the 605 freeway.

I actually thought it was in Whittier as well. We went anyway… on the way to Whittier. 
We ate at El Bigoton and took Birrieria Tecalitan tacos to go. Worth it! Great rec @Sgee!
