Crispy Rice "Barber" (three kinds) and some other new dishes outdoor seating at Hakata Izakaya Hero

Hero has been perfecting his rice burger. It kind of looks like In-and-Out packaging.
3 kinds - Tsukune, Yakiniko and a third one, I can’t recall.
Forgot to take an unwrapped shot but it was so delicious.
New agadashi tofu and a few other dishes too.

Had a “Wine Weenie” dinner in the parking lot beer garden the other night. Hiro’s upped his game during the pandemic. The menu’s been refined but is still so accessible and delicious.

So happy to have an A-level Izakaya on the west side of LA.

Sorry - no pictures. Too busy yakking about old wines.

Went to Izakaya Hero today. Will be doing a write-up soon. TLDR: It’s my favorite izakaya in LA now.

Yeah, man. Hiro’s menu is so extensive. I can’t wait to dig in further.

He also preps yakiniku-style cuts togo. Grill at home on your own shichirin! We didn’t order any of the beef items on our previous visit, but I am sure they are excellent because of his extensive experience at Manpuku.
