A friend made something with dates. she boiled them in water first, then threw out the water. I thought that water would be sweet and maybe I could use date water as a base for drinks, like lemonade or tea to sweeten instead of using sugar. Thoughts? experience?
Sure i remember having date water as part of a dessert element years ago. Along with some sort of sponge cake a bitter honey ice cream and fresh dates that were ripening. The date water was poured table side
I can imagine it would be great made into a simple syrup and then used to sweeten tea or as a soak for a cake
Or savory? Maybe for braising lamb with Moroccan flavors
