Dinner tonight

One meal left in LA (I’ll post about the others later). In the mood for something meat-centric like Animal or Chi Spacca. Preferably in or near DTLA or Hollywood or along the way from one to the other.

Bestia. On the east side of DTLA but worth it.

Is the bar at Gwen a la carte? The online menu is blank on my phone.

OK, that sounds perfect.

Ha, I was just there last night because my friend was so disappointed that Miro was out of liver mousse. Maybe I’ll go back for dessert.

Love their sticky toffee pudding

Substitute chicken liver for sticky, foie gras for toffee, and mousse for pudding and I’m with you.

I second Gwen but would recommend sitting out on the patio as it’s shaping up to be a lovely night. Full menu is available outside and can be ordered a la carte. Do not miss the huckleberry semi fredo dessert if it is still on offer.

You mean the Sunset Blvd. sidewalk?

Haha I do indeed. They’ve done a pretty good job separating off and decorating the space. And if you drink enough wine the cars zipping by will begin to sound like the mellifluously whispering wind.

And the hobos?

They can get their own wine.

There is a fence.

Drink enough wine and they become lovable rapscallions that will regale you with stories of the mysterious night.
