Fortune Gourmet is old school delicious. A decidedly lower hipster quotient here, and that is not a bad thing.

Buy fresh chicken at the poultry store next door. Baker’s bench (tfl, jg, konbi alum) on Fri-Sun. Endorffeine on vacay til the end of the month.

What do you recommend at Fortune?

Everything is good. Clams in black bean sauce, salt and pepper squid, even the sweet and sour pork is excellent. They also do a nice deep-fried whole fish.
