look good! Been wondering about this…
Disclaim: the smoke generated from the BBQ smells totally diff than the taste of my sausage (maybe the other meats get more infused by the smoke?). But still certainly tasty and “low stakes” enough for a try, and I’m interesting ordering the chicken thighs next time (they looked so juicy on the BBQ…).
Moussaka and octopus were my favorite dishes, though.
The sausage was probably smoked beforehand in a smoker.
Didn’t have time for dinner yesterday until a little after 8:30PM, and I didn’t feel like driving too far.
Recalled @Moomin mentioning that Jerk Stop in West LA felt a little “janky,” ambiance-wise, but that they liked the food (as I had, as well). I read the most Yelp reviews (which are actually quite amusing; I suggest sorting by date and reading them for yourself), and thought that they were reassuring enough:
Jerk chicken. That box was SO, so heavy. Could smell a bit of smoke when I opened the box. That jerk sauce is seriously like crack. For $23 (incl tip), the QPR seemed exceptional to me.
Does anyone know what this side sauce is?
It looks a little lighter (and certainly less “dried”) than the jerk sauce, and it also tasted diff. Not at all spicy (although maybe I had already blown out my palate from the jerk sauce), and it tasted like roasted pepper, a little sweet, and a tiny bit of sour?
