Yes, I know. And that is a reason I enjoy the LA site. I just wish there was a little more Original/Longform (somewhat like Eater National). But, that’s a “me thing”.
Anyway, I agree … that Spago pizza is iconic LA through and through.
Yeah we’re really trying to do more original and longform but it’s really expensive to produce! And you have to find great stories to tell. Eater National has a pretty huge budget with a wider net to cast (the entire country), so they kill in that department. Anyhow, appreciate the feedback.

Curious…are most of your longform pieces pitches from freelance writers? Or are you guys developing ideas in house?
Generally they’re from contributors but also from our editorial staff.
