A gift basket of “LA” food things?
Maybe some treats or granola from Republique
Some jams from SQRL
Hot sauce from Chichen Itza
Valerie Confection candies and chocolates
I have a standard In-n-Out tee shirt present for these kind of scenarios
Yah, I was thinking something like that too - mole, hot sauces, a quintessential L.A. food book. More to pack but oh well…
Definitely smuggle that onto the plane!
Yes, quite well.
Cool, maybe a cookbook from one of her favorite restaurants. Although a t-shirt or apron are more travel friendly, lol.
Okay, I’ll just keep checking this post because you’re just getting started.
If you’re adding food to the gift box Little Johns toffee
A theme is starting.
Great shop for foodies. Can you tell I like this topic?
their bake sale for Australia was awesome,
They’re a great addition to the food world here in LA.
I was so bummed i couldn’t make it. Ken is great, super friendly and helpful.
What did you like at the bake sale?
we were in line at around 1pm so we missed out on a bunch of stuff, but they still had so many other things.
favorites were - Porridge and Puffs seasonal sweet porridge, Konbi caneles, Della Gossett/Spago’s triple berry coffee cake, Birdie G’s lavender almonds , Now Serving’s s’more rice krispy treats
Here’s a pic of the menus and the stuff i picked up:
Oh great! How’d you find out about it?
it was on Now Serving’s Instagram and also a bunch of other chef’s Instagram.
Ahhh… one more place to follow and also check-in more with places I do follow! I thought I saw a story after the fact on Republique’s IG?
yes, i"m pretty sure of it, they had some pastries at the bake sale too. They were able to raise $14K to donate to the relief efforts in the Australian Bushfires.
Good people.
