The pork mayonnaise buns are especially indulgent, blanketed in pork floss and congealed mayonnaise. Warm the buns as instructed in the oven and the pork and mayonnaise melt as one into a glorious, crumbly, porky, fatty mess on top of the buns.
What a coincidence that you posted this!
My friend tried it yesterday and really enjoyed it. I was so jealous b/c it looks so much like the stuff I grew up w/ (and loved)…
My Mom goes there for treats for the chowpups all the time.
Have you tried T.P. Banh Bao 2

I used to eat them in Texas and found them again when I moved to San Diego. I had some from OC this weekend and they’re very decent, not as good as the San Diego location nor the one in Houston one, but very convenient to freeze, defrost and heat up while staying tasty.
You might like Longs Family Pastry in Chinatown they have big buns. That’s what it’s called in Chinese lol. It has a whole egg, chicken, char siu, and a mushroom. They also have snow mountain bbq pork buns that sell out everyday. Kinda of a Chinatown favorite and for Chinese working in DTLA. Kinda of reminds me of the to-go dim sum shops on Stockton, Clement, Irving and Taraval in SF.
Big fan of the special chicken buns!
My current power rankings are
- CBS Seafood
- Won Kok
- Long’s Family Pastry
They’re all good, but CBS edges the others out with a nice herbal component.
