Eater reports that the shuttering Hop Louie opened in 1941 but that’s way off. I grew up with that location being Golden Pagoda and am guessing it became Hop Louie late 60s or 70s. I think the confusion came from an LAist article on LA’s oldest restaurants that used that 1941 date. I contacted the author who indicated the next revision of her article would remove Hop Louie, but that now is moot.
