How to ditch Grubhub and order your restaurant takeout ethically

Thank you. I have been worrying about this.

Restaurants seemed to prefer Caviar prior to its acquisition by DoorDash.

Thank you for this read.

I often find food delivery service fees to be exorbitant. For a regular, casual takeout meal for 2, around 40+% of the cost of food if I remember, given that they automatically suggest such a high tip (directly to driver supposedly, not to restaurant) in addition to both service and delivery fees. Of course I can opt out of tip, but they make me feel like a slight asshole for doing that.

I don’t want to use Grubhub unless I absolutely am in a bind.
