Zut’s my favorite. Make a reservation, we went at 3:00 expecting a mid-afternoon lull and had to wait half an hour.

Lunch at Chez Panisse Cafe has been our favorite, but alas, that has been discontinued.
Not discontinued. They reopen for dinner service tomorrow and will open for lunch “as soon as possible.”
In the meantime, Zut’s the closest thing. Or Wood Tavern, a few feet over the border into Oakland.
