Yeah it’s suprising there’s no mention of it on the usual sites—we were there last week and the staff confirmed he left. I reached out to him and have not heard back.
I could be wrong, but this may actually be the plan all along—as a consulting chef perhaps. before the project was announced he told me he was helping Rucker open the cafe and developing the savory side of the menu—he never mentioned that he was partner or that he had a financial stake.
Thanks for the recommendation @Gr8pimpin. Great salsa. Thoroughly enjoyed the garlic shrimp plate. 6 butterflied shrimp with tons of garlic. Definitely coming back soon for the carnitas.
I will ask them to crisp up the carnitas when I order it. Didn’t see anybody with carnitas on the table and almost every table was occupied at lunch today around noon.
We were also looking at the governor taco and carne asada plate. Have you ordered these before?
My wife likes the stuffed zucchini and also the grilled shrimp.
The asada is better than just serviceable, though I’m spoiled by the smokey version served at Salsa & Beer. It’s not what draws me there (…the salsa is!)
The governor taco is good. A bit rich, but I love cheesy gooey things. I had an asada (Reminds me of vampiro) and with shrimp.
If you get the carnitas, make sure you ask for some of the spicy green salsa.
