How was it?
I tried to get it that day myself but they were done by the time i called a bit after 7p. Will give it a go maybe early next week again
So good! Bread is a better version of David Chang’s bing bread. The short rib comes with a hoisin sauce and reminds you of peking duck. The chicken is a huge juicy piece of Mary’s chicken. Actually have eaten there twice now since it’s so convenient. And at $10 for something from kato, I think it’s gonna be a hit.
I always thought that was the 2nd best fried chicken in LA after HR’s. Can’t wait to see how this new version stands up
Agree.
I had the sesame noodles for lunch today.
So good.
chicken was my favorite and stayed nice and crispy. noodles were good with a nice q, add some kato chili paste. the scallion wraps were nice, but dense, so can be hard to chew at times…
5 spice duck scallion wrap, 5 spice duck, cucumber, scallion, cilantro
fried chicken scallion wrap - fried mary’s chicken thigh, spicy mayo, cabbage slaw, kato chili oil
scallion oil noodles - alkaline noodles, roasted scallion oil and soy, grilled scallion, scallion salt, herbs
sesame noodles - cold alkaline noodles, roasted sesame vinaigrette carrots, cucumbers and herbs
kato chili paste
this is da business
…and pretty.
Can’t wait to figure out what to eat after eating at kato.
You could bang Kato after eating Kato and still have room for more Kato.
… and Monte Alban.
Fucking brilliant
cuándo hay hambre no hay mal pan! Ja ja
I think the Kato hot sauce/chile paste might be the best one I’ve ever had, anywhere. Turned the cold noodles from “pretty good” into dynamite.
Must be the anchovies
where’s this “patio” going to be anyway? i’m guessing in a couple of the parking spots out front?
Perhaps tents in the parking lot?
That parking lot is getting smaller by the second! What about that upstairs section?i wonder if they could put 2 tops in the walkway… Never see much action up there
@PorkyBelly Really enjoyed the collaboration tasting Jon Yao did with Triniti a few years ago and looking forward to going back for the new tasting menu.
Any word on ABC liquor license? The State of California’s Alcoholic Beverage Control (ABC) should give them a break and let them have one!
