Kato - Extended Tasting Menu

for the record, I did not leave hungry, I just needed about 5 or 6 bowls of rice to fill me up.

Omakasei was just right for my gullet. I didn’t have to :taco::taco::taco: afterwards…

I didn’t go to get full. I just wanted to try some bites.

It was definitely a lot of bites!

Damn, that geoduck looks amazing.

not sure if this is intentional or what, but there’s a 20% gratuity on top of the 18% service charge by default.

a lot more bearable if you use your 8$ off points, @PorkyBelly

But how much were the drinks though… lol
Does Jon have special pairing for this menu?

$2400 for a custom 7 bottle wine flight

Pretty good bottle pairing for the menu. Would have done it if everyone drank a good amount. It’s a very nice selection of top end producers.

We alternatively did 4 btls of wine and cocktails.

I’m going to make @PorkyBelly a wine influencer soon

I’d be more interested in the non-alcoholic pairings at Kato.

Did not really enjoy the NA pairing at Katos regular dinner. I much prefer their cocktails

Seconded above. I really liked the first half of the NA pairing, but the latter half was mostly dealcoholized wine which really did not do it for me. The NA cocktails are great.

the 2012 was refreshing with crisp stonefruit on the palate and notes of gangnam style and fifty shades of gray.

Where’s the outrage on this one y’all? No threat or menace?

Ever consider that it was a mistake on the part of reservation platform and not a nefarious plot by the restaurant? You know, for people who supposedly like restaurants, some users on this platform sure seem like they hate the people who work in restaurants.

Yeah it seems like a weird product issue than a scheme. I’m with the delicious taco bell dish here.

i read it as a joke, not a genuine call for outrage
