Laist on Little Tokyo business hit hard by Pandemic

Tough times for a lot of legacy restaurants, especially the ones with older generation owners who have had to learn new tricks to survive. Interesting how some business have thrived more with the takeout.

Suehiro Cafe is featured in the story and the owner has dealt with losing his mom, the original founder, to Covid.

Great (and sad) article

very sad… I used to go to Suehiro late night all the time in the 80s when I lived in a loft downtown (in what is now the “arts district”). Suehiro, Gorky’s, Atomic Cafe, Al’s Bar, Vickmans – all regular spots in the area for artists, musicians and punks. Only Suehiro left and I hope it survives.
