Little Saigon Adventures

yes, it’s very good and consistent, the mark of a true specialist. Can’t think of any place better than theirs so it’s the best banh khot around. Banh khot vung tau is different style and i think BKL edges them.

Easy order and pickup at Banh Khot Lady.

That banh khot is spectacular! The taste, texture, everything is well made. The dipping sauce is also very good.

The egg roll is all shrimp and nicely fried. I would skip next time. I prefer it with more fillings personally.

This is also down the street from Brodards so if your doing the potluck or birthday party thing.

Are 5 of those enough to be filling? I am going to go next week.

It’s not filling at all lol.

If you have a small group of 2-3 you can order a box of 30 banh khots.

If I am going to Little Saigon I like to eat slightly less than normal so I go eat/drink other things. Vietnamese food is lighter imo.

You want the 5/5 combo to be full. I really dig the rocket rolls as these bad boys are usually made with much smaller shrimp.

Recently discovered Pho Good in Garden Grove and was pleasantly surprised by how great the pho is here. They will blanch your bean sprouts if you want, nice touch and keeps your broth warmer while eating. They also provide a different herb along the the usual, not sure what it is but very tasty. Ordered thin flat noodles too, cooked nicely. And the broth is so clean tasting yet packed with flavor. Got the #2 combination pho and loved all the meats, especially the tendon which was so luscious. If you are ever in the neighborhood, definitely give this place a try.

Phoholic at South Coast is open. Looks like a ramen shop in Tokyo with individual seats and dividers between customers so you can slurp in peace.

Ok this place is a freaking GEM! Honestly never had banh khot before but they are awesome, crunchy, umami, sweet, then the mint they give you with it works a lot. Love the short tables with the little chairs like Asia too.

Not cheap fyi; $10 for 5, but makes me feel better about the quality. If you’re in the area, must visit IMVHO

Anyway behold the leftovers reheated in the toaster oven!

It has been 10 years since I last went to Phuong’s. I went there because it was my grandma’s favorite restaurant and she was dying from cancer, so I got take out for her. This brings back memories.

I am sorry to hear that. I hoped the hu tieu with that magic sauce gave her some happiness today!

Went to Saigon bakery today their banh mi was just ok. Bread was good but the fillings did not have a ton of flavor and sauce/ pickle flavors were very muted.

Oh, this happened 10 years ago!

I’ll give this place a try someday, though dining out prices have skyrocketed.

Just passing through near 405 no time for multi stops unfortunately

Don’t go to Vita Cane

Blah blah non-gmo organic blah blah I call BS this nuoc mia tastes like fuking Yeo’s. I did see an actual sugar cane but why does it taste like Yeo’s?

Been to multiple locations to give it a fair shot.

Plus they fuking stole from Cococane. Is everyone going to copy that drink now?

You can copy the drink but you can’t copy the experience of walking into the office with a cup proclaiming in large friendly letters I LOVE THE COCOCANE
