Little Saigon - First Time Reccomendations

Hi all, down in OC for the day. Haven’t explored Little Saigon and looking forward to it, was curious if anyone knew the area well and could give recommendations for a first time experience at some MUST EAT spots/dishes.

Looking into checking out one (or several) of the following:

Bun Nha Trang
Mai Phung
Ngu Binh
Garlic and Chives
Pho 79

Saigon Bakery - egg banh mi
8940 Westminster Ave
Westminster, CA 92683

Hi @micheldelving,

I’d vote for Ngu Binh, get a starter of their Banh Beo Chen (Steamed Rice Cake Served in Individual Small Dishes) and their amazing Bun Bo Hue (Spicy Hue-Style Beef Noodle Soup). I posted some pics and thoughts here.

@A5KOBE’s recommendation for Saigon Bakery and an Egg Banh Mi Sandwich is great as well.

Finish up with an original Cococane (Coconut + Sugarcane) Drink at Cococane.

Thanks for all the recc’s!! Little late on the follow up but we did Mai Phung and had the Banh Canh. Really enjoyed it. 100% slurpability with the tapioca noodles, and plenty of pork slices, crab meat, and shrimp. Broth was really lovely, kind of a thick viscosity at first that dissipates the further in you go.

Phan Cha Gio were super tasty too.

Had the happy accident of stumbling on the Night Market at the Asian Garden Mall, but was too full to enjoy. Definitely warrants some further investigation!

You’ll have to wait until next year for the return of the Night Market; it runs from early/mid June through Labor Day weekend, Friday-Sunday only.
