The sugar-water soak surprised me.

Jeffrey Steingarten tried a lot of things and concluded that rendered horse fat was the best.

I know . It be fun to try . I could come across beef tallow. Horse fat might be a little difficult.

They say for soap, but it’s the same for cooking.

I think I’ve seen beef fat for frying at some smart and finals but only in the huge 35lb containers
