That’s spooky.
E-San Rod-Sap in Anaheim. Cash only.
Pork jerky, sausage and sticky rice appetizer. Love that funky sauce.
Crispy rice salad was delicious. Dare I say as good as LoS?
Tom Yum Goong. Family loved it.
Ordered the papaya salad spicy. It was freakin spicy. Wife and son had to tap out.
Beef was eh and probably not needed. Noodles were excellent. One of the best pad see ewe we’ve had minus the beef.
Sunday lunch was packed with lots of folks taking advantage of the 2 item combo lunch for $8.50 and 3 item combo lunch for $11. Comes with rice and there are ~15 different options.
Quick trip to the OC to load up on Salteñas (72 frozen!) for the holidays from Bebas
Erata: for anyone trying Salteñas for the first time they really are the XLB of the empanada world -open the corner slurp, then take a bite (repeat until finished). You really can’t set it down.
plus a quick lunch and a side trip to Alta Baja really just to check it out. Very friendly staff, picked up a couple Mexican wines including a Madera 5 Cab - Tempranillo blend among other things
Low key one of the best Thai restaurants in OC!
A quick West Adams jaunt
High Fidelity record shop
Mizlala. Really good falafel sandwich! You only get one topping/sauce. Wish there was more cucumber on this. The garlic sauce is not the garlic sauce you are thinking of. Closer than a trip to Sababa in Little Arabia. The broccoli was too salty for my tastes the pickled chile was good wish there was more.
Uncle Marvin’s house at 2101 South Gramercy Place
I definitely shell out for extra sauces at Mizlala! Looks good
Yeah that was my mistake. It definitely needed it. The falafel and pita alone were great
Worth trying the carrots too, I think they are listed under pickles but really it’s a small Moroccan salad dressed with their harissa i believe. It’s really good
BTW for people going for the first time look to the right at the register there’s a list of the sauces and pickles you can add on for a price. It’s easy to miss and not obvious on the paper menu
Check out the doc “I called Him Morgan”.
any recipes here to share? looks awesome
paging sergio @hppzz
I saw that @hppzz used A-Maze-N stainless steel smoker - that helps!
this is the recipe

Thank you!! Looks awesome, cant wait to try it out!!
Bang x 2
Mariscos Jalisco on La Cienega. Man I missed carbs!! What a treat!
And Sonoratown for some costilla tacos. Tiny, but smokey and delicious!
Oh, forgot, yesterday I went to the Northridge branch of Myung In Dumplings.
Spicy shrimp. Soooo good. As good as their Koreatown location. Just pricier. Forgot to take a photo so took one from Yelp. This looks exactly like what I got.
Are you back on the carb train for good or just cycling on/off?
Mostly on! I took two days off in August but before that straight, no cheats since February. I’ll get back on Monday. Just needed a break.
Wow good for you!
Thank you!
Should’ve said mostly off the carb train . See being back on carbs is making me high.
