Gorgeous! May I ask who’s recipe you used? Bon Appetit?
Yup Bon Appetit! I read a lot of different ones and watched a ton of different videos but settled on BA’s recipe. Worked well!
Nice job @tailbacku. Your cheesecake looks almost identical to the one on the BA website.

Thanks - went with the bouillabaisse. Etoufee without shrimp or crawfish is “mildly blasphemous” according to my La gal.
Scenes from their beef bordelaise last night. Takes a little Longer than the 15-20 minutes but I was in no rush. Absolutely delicious, and the short rib was just the right tender while still being a little toothsome. I think they’ve got a winning idea here with the reheating at home bit.
Someone should grab that Mourvedre from Chateau Ste Anne, would pair well with any of the meals next week.
Lol. Love that gal. But it looks so dang good. It reminds me of the dark roux in some gumbos we had in NOLA. Can we ignore the name and just think of it as a delicious, dark, chicken & sausage stew?
We can.
She cant.
HAHAHAHA!
Hit up the spicy fried chicken at Pasjoli last night. Fun little meal. Maybe a medium on the howlin rays scale.
Next day grilled cheese
How was the grilled cheese?
Great! I opened the package up like, yeah that’s a grilled cheese alright.
Sharp and tangy, heated it up in a cast iron pan.
Done.
The étouffée was excellent (I heated it a few minutes more than the suggested 20 and it came out perfectly), as were the fried okra and the cornbread. The bananas foster custard was tasty and carried the theme further but made me yearn for the real deal.
Sold. Adding an after-dinner grilled cheese to my bouillabaisse order.
pasjoli x felix
mise en place
bouillabaisse, shrimp, scallops, rockfish; country toast with rouille
Broth and seafood were delicious @TheCookie. Wish there was more broth, finished it before the seafood. Added some short grain rice to finish off the seafood and soak up the remaining broth, because #asian.
The roasted haricots verts and cippolini, and rice pudding and candied pecans were also really good.
diavola - fior di latte, pomodoro, salame piccante, basil & olio santo #covid15
Thanks for the great pics. Looks wonderful @PorkyBelly. I like how they even included some Uni Nigiri for you to mix into the Bouillabaisse.
Was it pretty easy to put together?
That bouillabaisse meal was outrageously fantastic.
Like you I went into a panic when I saw the minuscule amount of broth. But it worked out quite well as we ate it. It came out to a decent sized plate for two. And all the ingredients were so rich that we we sated.
The haricots verts and cipollini were spectacular
Thanks, I slaved in the kitchen all day for that broth. i kid, i kid, it was really easy. Just heat the broth and seafood in a pot and warm the veggies and toast in the toaster oven.
