Pasticceria Regoli - Rome

Read about this place on Elizabeth Minchilli’s web site and it seemed like the perfect alternative to birthday (not mine) cake. We looked at the case on the shop side, then sat in the cafe next door and ordered from the barista so we wouldn’t have to brave the line. He asked if he should split them in half for us, which was very thoughtful.

The fillings in the bavarese, fagottino alla ricotta, and tart were spectacular, and the wild strawberries were as good as they get if you’re not picking them straight off the plant. The pastry was just OK, I left a lot of it on the plate, but for €5.20 I’m not complaining. You’d pay more than that for any one of them at home.
