Providence

Warrior: 8.5 Warrior Points. Outstanding.

Peony: Great food & impressive attention to details. Top level execution + service. The red fife sourdough was really great as it was made using only the red fife without any addition of white flour ( we checked with the waiter). The only thing I wish they could change is to restart the cheese cart service (which had a larger collection of cheeses to choose).

Also enjoyed Providence last night too, albeit from the chef’s table.

i think they were more surprised to see that being redeemed more than anything, apparently i was only the second person to bring that in. it seemed like they were scrambling to figure out what to give me, it turned out to be their in-house bean-to-bar chocolate bars.

those chocolate bars are great

They still have a cheese cart. It only has two things: comte and brie. Depressing. But their comte with black truffles has been haunting me recently.

One more comment. I like the Tehachapi bread. But I think it’s time to move on.

This is very expensive. $360 per person. Is this a top 5 restaurant in LA for the price?

I would rank it top two with Hayato.

probably best non japanese high end restaurant in LA

It was #1 on Jonathan Gold’s 101 list four years in a row and then #2 after Vespertine.
