Pure Pork Bone Ramen - The Silky, Smooth, Refined Tonkotsu Ramen at Ippudo S.F. [Thoughts + Pics]

I don’t know if this place makes noodles for other restaurants. We asked the Ippudo SF server, and she then asked the manager, who told us directly that (at least for Ippudo SF), “we don’t make our own noodles.” He then went on to say that it was from an outside source.

So I don’t know if his English wasn’t good enough and meant the outside source was Ippudo NY(?) or Sun Noodle or wherever. The noodles tasted fine, but they didn’t taste markedly better than some straight noodles we’ve had before at other places.

The Berkeley branch reportedly makes its own noodles. Maybe they make them for the SF branch as well. SF real estate is a lot more expensive.
