Restaurant recommendations near Willows CA?

Either near Willows, or anywhere en route to Willows from San Francisco (i.e. 505 and 5 fwys).

Any price range, any cuisine.

Thanks.

That’s a tough one . Not much along this corridor . Though , my friend says he like to stop at http://www.granzellas.com/ in Williams just south of Willows. Says they have a really good eggs benedict . I am always in a hurry to get to Mount Shasta . I stop at McDonalds and on the way back Taco Bell .

Latest reco I’ve received is:

Nancy’s Airport Café – biscuits & gravy, CFS (chicken fried steak)
353 County Road G Willows, CA 95988
(530) 934-7211

Older one’s that may or may not still exist or still worthy:

Pat & Larry’s Steakhouse - specialize in beef and lamb
old Hwy 99 (parallel to I5) on the south end of town

River Glenn - prime rib
Exit Hwy 162 east about 12 miles to Hwy 45, then north along the river to River Glenn on the Sacramento River
Quote from a prior post:
For a real dive, you can’t beat River Glenn about 15 miles east of Willows, CA if you come up I-5. It is inside the levee of the Sacramento River. It has great prime rib, but is only open Thur., Fri., Sat. for dinner I think. I saw a lunch special on a sign on the levee Monday, so it must be open for lunch. You would have to call for the facts.
River Glenn
(530) 934-3629
2470 State Highway 45
Glenn, CA 95943

In Corning I have a reco (untried) for
Bartel’s - burgers
West side of the freeway, North Corning exit

Hope this helps.

Dave,

Thank you for this list.

Looks like Nancy’s may work out just fine, as it’s right off the 162, which is exactly on the way to where we are going. And they’re open early (5 am), another huge plus.

We tried Nancy’s Airport Cafe for breakfast.

The chili omelet was unfortunately very salty. The breakfast burrito was cold. My pancakes were ok, but a bit dense, but this is a diner so who’s uses a denismeter anyway, right?

All in all, I probably yearned for a Denny’s. But Willows has no such creature.

On the way back later that day, they were nice enough to allow us to use the restrooms. Made the drive back to Sacramento much easier. So kudos to them.
