I will be traveling to Italy in September and spending one night in Rome and then traveling to Assisi where i will spending about a week. I am interested in finding amazing restaurants (both hole-in-the-wall and fancy) in the area. Ambiance is important but its really all about the food. I am also looking for any amazing food stores or markets in the area as I will have a kitchen and love to cook. Any suggestions on either restaurants or markets would be greatly appreciated. Old favorite place outside Assisi is the restaurant at Albergo Fontanelle.

Casual country restaurant, rustic regional specialties, collect their own black and white truffles on the property. Great place to spend a night or two.
