When I look for restaurants to try I search for lists of good restaurants (e.g., Jonathan Gold’s 101 restaurants). When my girlfriend looks for restaurants to try she searches for lists of romantic restaurants. The lists tend to deviate substantially.
Would folks here help us develop a list of romantic good restaurants? In my mind, Providence, Melisse, and Valentino would be good examples.
Spago, Michael’s, or Lucques, if you book their patios,
Thanks, all. Great suggestions – some I haven’t been to, and some that I can show my GF to prove how romantic I have already been!
Having just been, the patio at Noe is really a lovely place at night. Just lovely.
Thanks. How’s the food? Any recommendations?
Currently, the food is very serviceable. Which isn’t to say it’s bad, just that it is not nearly as good as it was when Chef Ishii was still manning the stoves. Ishii really elevated the art of fusion Franco-Japanese cuisine. Now, if you want to experience Chef Ishii’s work, go down the hill to JiST Cafe.
But back to Noe, still good, but now it’s just really good standard Cal-Med fare.
