For me, the lobster skewers don’t work for the reason you noted – the pieces are too small for shish kabob. It’s a cool idea, but for me, lobster is best when it’s just steamed/grilled and that’s all.
some more new dishes, but the duck still eludes me.

Hi @PorkyBelly
Looks so good! What were your favorites of the new dishes? Do you find the lobster pieces too small for shish kabob? Thanks.
out of the new dishes, the table favorite was definitely the tempura oyster mushrooms and green onions
and the banana cake is still probably the bestest in the whole damn country
I have summer squash and okra in my bin but the preparation won’t be nearly as creative.
Revisiting here what are your recent faves?
I’ll make sure to get the shawerma sandwich instead of the plate this time! It almost made me quit saffys lol!
duck leg
banana cake
chicken and beef skewers
tempura oyster mushrooms & green onion
if you like onion dips the kohlrabi & turnip is good
Beef meaning shishlik or dry aged?
shishlik
Get the chicken livers!
Had to wait almost forty min past our reservation.
Food was very good but still too much of heavy/heavy and salty imo.
Chicken>beef shislik and lobster and shawerma sandwich were highlights. Also they ran out of banana cake ;(
Man you had a real tough night of eating. What a bummer.
Lol first world problems! I actually really enjoyed the meal at saffys just sad about the banana cake and the wait was pretty dreadful but luckily we could have drinks on the side of the street at some tables that they had set up, that definitely took the edge off.
@hppzz report forthcoming?
Damn maybe Ashkenazis (I’m one!) don’t have totally inferior food.
I can do this Friday
see you there
Oh damn that looks so good what a perfect lunch. Busy on both days for me.
ori makes a damn fine sandwich. and @hppzz makes a damn fine hoshigaki chocolate chip cookie.
don’t sleep on the focaccia sandwiches.
@hppzz review forthcoming?
beef & lamb brisket pita sandwich, tahini, zhoug, amba
mortadella
the most sensual of all the salted cured meats.
focaccia “sasto” - prosciutto, soppresata, coppa, housemade ricotta, fermented chilies, lettuce, tomato, onion, oregano vinaigrette
special hoshigaki chocolate chip cookie from @hppzz

not for sale , only gifted. The process of picking, processing, drying , and massaging hoshigaki would make this cookie too expensive to sell . the top piece is just to show that it’s not just a regular chocolate chip. but there’s actually more chunks of hoshigaki in there than chocolate chips.
