That’s a great point.
Street corn torta’s great, too. They smoke their own chicken and you can really taste it. I prefer it without the candied chilies though – too sweet, like the pickles on the Cubano.

In the interests of science, I took @hungryhungryhippos’s suggestion and subbed my own dill pickles for the bread and butter ones on the Cubano.
The difference was dramatic. The dills melded perfectly with the flavors of the sandwich in a way the bread butters just don’t.
Also, they randomly forgot to put cheese on my sandwich. But this, too, turned out to be an improvement. The meat and aioli are fatty enough on their own.

“A Study in Heat” w/ the turkey sandwich is also quite good (and not very hot, actually).
