They were dill encrusted wings that had been brined in pickle juice. Came with a delicious sour cream based dipping sauce. I’ll ask my friend for the recipe.

Its super crisp on the bottom and then light. The big selling point is the edges which have a frico of cheese which isn’t really visible in my picture. Here’s a link to J. Kenji Lopez-Alt’s article about the style, Detroit-Style Pan Pizza Recipe. There is a link to his recipe in the article. I use a slightly different recipe that Peter Reinhart sent me from his up and coming book on pan pizzas. Peter has you do the final rise with chunks of cheese pushed through the crust. Great stuff although I am generally a minimalist thin crust pizza guy. Sometimes over-the-top is the way to go.

For me and my younger son, who are Eagles fans, we had chicken wings, nachos, and pizza. For my older son, who is a Patriots fan, he had spinach. And then about 15 minutes into the food, I let him join our food line.
