Drat Heading to Seattle tomorrow and was hoping for one there.
Heading to #1 right now
I’ve been to #6. It’s definitely the best restaurant that serves an oyster omelet and is walking distance from my house. And it made Eater’s list, too. But I dunno about “best new restaurant” in Manhattan, let alone America.
Kopitiam’s appearance on the list might have something to do with it being a half-hour walk from Bon Appetit’s offices.
Maybe. But you gotta figure there are at least 50 restaurants that are just as close or closer.
Number 10, The Wolf’s Tailor, is pretty fabulous. I have eaten there twice, and the food, beverages, and service are delightful. Highly recommend it if you are ever in the Denver area.
Pete Wells liked it, too. And how many Malaysian coffee parlors are there?
Yes, I’m familiar with all the press Kopitiam has gotten. As mentioned, I live nearby and follow NYC food news pretty closely. And I’ve eaten there a number of times, which is how I know what the food is like. As you note, it’s a novelty (for now, for here). That doesn’t make it the best anything, although as also mentioned, it’s good.
Where’s Northern Thai Food Club?
Is there someplace better to post this since, what?, one is in LA?
