Thoughts on a great braised chicken dish?

Bicycling today past some houses, I smelled a fabulous, almost Indian fragrance wafting from a non-specific location. Not quite Indian, but also not tomato based. We do a lot of braised chicken dishes in our house: arrroz con pollo, papriaksh, coq au vin, Mediterranean, country captain, cacciatore, curry, but this smelled like something completely different. I’m thinking I’ll just do the country captain, but if anyone has thoughts on a wonderful chicken dish, I’m down…
